The HVR team has been working on this 1925 Fiat 501 – a full ground‑up restoration on a car that’s been in the same family since new.
Everything’s been stripped, rebuilt, and put back together the right way. From the chassis up, every nut, bolt, and panel has had attention. It’s been a big job, but we’re nearly there now.
It’s not every day you get to work on something with almost 100 years of history, especially one that’s never left the family. Can’t wait to see it back on the road where it belongs.
I learnt to drive on a 1926 Fiat 501 2-seater. Those controls and the door hardware seem very familiar. Ours had an aluminium steering wheel to which one’s hands would stick firmly on a frosty morn.
Just grand to see it/them brought back to shining, wonderful life again! Thanks for posting!
The HVR Team had the pleasure of carrying out a mechanical recommissioning on this 1926 Delage DISS 1926. Maintenance included adjusting the mudguards and fitting a new set of wheels and tyres.
The HVR team had the pleasure of carrying out mechanical maintenance on this 1971 Lotus Elan Sprint Drophead, finished in distinctive yellow. This lightweight British sports car is known for its sharp handling and simplicity of design. It's always a privilege to work on well-maintained examples of iconic vehicles such as this
In the workshop is the legendary 1957 Lotus 11 1500! Here are some photos its arrival into the workshop. This isn’t just any Lotus Eleven it’s an ex-works team car driven by none other than Colin Chapman himself at the 1957 Le Mans 24 Hours. With its sleek aerodynamic lines, lightweight frame and 1500cc Coventry Climax engine, this piece of racing history embodies everything brilliant about 1950s British motorsport engineering. The HVR team carefully received and inspected the car and as shared works are underway to preserve its incredible legacy. We can’t wait for it to stretch its legs on the track in the near future.
